TOTR recommend: Ghostpoet

For those who are not familiar with the one they call Ghostpoet get familiar.

His alternative take on Hip Hop is a breath of fresh air to the UK scene. With his unique flow and experimental beats it's not hard to see why we highly recommend him.

Ghostpoet recently featured on the Kweschu mixtape alongside the likes of The XX, DELS and The Invisible to name but a few. You can download that mixtape from Ghospoet's myspace so do check it out.

Ghostpoet is also featuring on the TOTR compilation album which is being released next week.

To keep up to date with Ghostpoet follow him on Twitter  or add him on Myspace .

Industry Hater

Personally, the industry hater is starting to get a bit boring now a week is a long time on the internet and he is starting to become old news.

There's only so much 'parring' you can do. However, the part in this video where he talks about Ghetto spitting while he MCee's did make me chuckle.

You're on borrowed time mate, quit while you're ahead!

WTF!

Probably, one of the worse songs to have been made this year from two very credible artists. This is nothing more than mediocre and a touch cheesy.

Very dissapointing.

Opinions please.

Kosha - Old Skool

This tune is a banger, a straight up classic!!! UK artist Kosha is all set to release this single on November 30th!

So, make sure you go cop it and support his movement.

Industry Hater

Who is this person? Whoever this person is they are quite funny but very unnecessary.

Reveal yourself I say, better yet don't. Just come out from behind your computer and live your life it will make you a much happier person.

Chipmunk threatens suicide

Apparently, Chipmunk threatened to kill himself on twitter and even asked followers “Is suicide easy?

What ever he is going through I hope he get's well soon and stays positive. Remember people suicide is not the answer. Surround yourself with close family and friends and not people trying to hurt or exploit you! REAL TALK

Competition Time !!!!!

COMPETITION:

The prize on offer is a lovely Boxfresh T-Shirt.

All you have to do to win this prize is email the correct answer to the following question:

Back in the summer, the lovely folk at Hot 110 made a video of TOTR's August event. During the video I presented and interviewed a selection of acts Kimberley Anne, Mr Fox and Friends and Fuzzy Logic.

The question is what did the first two members of the band Fuzzy Logic introduce themselves as?

To help you with this, please watch the video in question:

Please send answers to: turn_offtheradio@hotmail.com

The competition will end next week Tuesday 10th November and a winner will be picked at random and announced on Wednesday 11th November.

Good luck.

Jay-Z – Empire State of Mind

It's Jay-Z tuesday today!!! Possibly the best track on a sub-standard BP3. May, I just add I don't think the track would have been this good if Alicia Keys didn't sing the hook, she is a beast on this!

BTW, when is a London rapper going to do their own version of this, 'Canary Wharf state of Mind' ha ha.

Jay-Z vs Beanie Siegel

Who's in the right? Could Jay-Z have pushed Beanie more? Is Beanie bitter? Has success got to Jay-Z, has he forgot his friends? So many questions not enough answers.

Opinions please.
