Marvell - We Know

I saw Marvell live on the Ipswich leg of Chipmunk's Shine, Shine tour (courtesy of Boxfresh) and they really impressed me.

They performed this track last on their set and absolutely tore the place down, I was slyly singing the chorus too. It's destined to be a hit.

Go cop it on October 10th.

50 Cent Tweets

For all you Twitter lovers out there follow 50 Cent if you are not already. He is funny, but controversial. He just doesn't seem to care, he snipes at everyone from Serena Williams to Busta Rhymes.

Check out some of his funniest tweets in my opinion this week:

"Banks would fuck any kind of girl. That boy don't care I saw him once with this lil bitch I said that bitch is a midget! He said stop hatin"

"
I'm a holidays dad. My son only likes me when its xmas time. I prolly wouldn't recognize him if he aint had his hands out when I see him"

"
If I was a porn star my name would be Bishop eddie long lol"

"
Tiger woods 750,000,000 dollar divorce settlement and they say love don't cost a thing damn. Then pussy is too expensive"

For a man who is suppose to release his new album soon, he seems to have an awful lot of time on his hands.

Do footballers think they are invincible or are they just plain stupid?

First Ashley Cole, then it was John Terry and now Wayne Rooney. Reports are suggesting that Rooney has been cheating on his wife Coleen with a prostitute.

If it is true, then it wouldn't have been the first time that he's slept with a prostitute or cheated on Coleen. Back when playing for Everton, Rooney was caught on CCTV paying £40 for sex with a granny prostitute nicknamed "Auld Slapper".

So going back to my point, do footballers think they are invincible or are they just plain stupid?

What do you guys/gals think, opinions please.

Cher Lloyd

The blogosphere has gone Cher Lloyd crazy and who can blame them. She's very talented, had an amazing X-Factor audition and for a 16 year old she's very confident.

However, I cannot help but think that X-Factor the very thing that has made her an overnight obsession maybe the very thing that will damage her career before it has even started.

Her audition itself was very different to what we expect from X-Factor. First of all it was a hip hop song and correct me if I am wrong but wasn't that one of the first, if not the first "urban" track to be well received in an X-Factor audition?

Speaking on This Morning (this morning, lol) Cher Lloyd is quoted in saying "this is the artist I want to be, so I wanted to give an incite into what I would like to bring out".

As we all know X-Factor is a predominantly pop orientated show and past winners like Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke have all gone on to release very poppy bordering cheesy songs.

So, with Cher Lloyd having the best audition of 2010 so far and her being touted as a potential X-Factor winner. Will she be willing to compromise her "Hip Hop" roots for a more polished pop sound, time will tell.

*Opinions welcome.

Maverick Sabre - A64

The moment I first heard Maverick Sabre I knew he was going to have a bright future. As I said last year he was one to watch and he hasn't let me down.

From performing at SXSW, Boxfresh sponsoring him and word that he's been signed it seems that Maverick Sabre has had one exciting year.

Not forgetting he's only 20 years old, it's just the beginning for him.

Anyway, enough of me check out his A64. Breathtaking!

Candle Thieves to support Badly Drawn Boy!

The Candle Thieves will be heading out on a UK tour supporting Badly Drawn Boy in October.

The tour will follow the release of the perky duo's forthcoming EP, ‘The Happiness Blues’ which is released on the 13th September, through Carnival Town Records. Fronted by the Casio-led pop squiggle of the deliciously oddball ‘Sunshine Song’, ‘The Happiness Blues EP’ continues where ‘Sunshine & Other Misfortunes’ left off, with more endearing and evocative leftfield indie-pop.

Since their introduction at the turn of the year, The Candle Thieves have spent the majority of their time taking their colourful toytown instrumentation to the kitchens, back gardens and local pubs of the UK, and playing high-profile U.S support slots with The Scissor Sisters and David Gray. They are currently holed up in their Peterborough bedroom studio developing the song ideas written on the road.

Tour dates as follows:

OCTOBER

13th Stockton Arc
15th Nottingham Albert Hall
16th Scarborough Spa Theatre
17th Holmfirth Picturedrome
18th Birmingham Town Hall
20th Glasgow Old Fruitmarket
21st Manchester Royal Northern
25th Bristol St Georges
26th Brighton Duke of Yorks
27th London Bloomsbury Theatre
28th London Bloomsbury Theatre
